Lane three of the M1 northbound is currently closed due to a "multiple vehicle collision".
According to National Highways, the closure is between J12 Toddington and J13 Milton Keynes.
Traffic officers are working at the scene to clear the vehicles involved.
Delays of 30 minutes on the approach with four miles of congestion.
