Police warning beware of icy roads as temperatures tumbled

Highways England jam cams showed traffic queuing on the M1 heading towards Milton Keynes on Friday morning

A crash is blocking two lanes on the M1 northbound near Milton Keynes heading into the Friday morning rush-hour.

Highways England reported the shunt involving two cars in the middle lane close to Junction 13 just before 7am.

Emergency services have now closed both lane one and two while they deal with the incident.

Police are also warning drivers to beware of icy conditions on roads across Bucks, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire after temperatures tumbled overnight.
