Thameslink is warning passengers to delay journeys or find an alternative route

Train companies are warning essential workers to delay journeys or find alternative routes from Bedford and Luton on Tuesday morning.

Thameslink says a signalling fault means trains cannot run between Luton and London St Pancras. A shuttle services and rail replacement buses are running between Luton, Bedford and St Albans.

Some Sutton services are running from St Albans but passengers are being warned to expect delays of up to 90 minutes.

No East Midlands Railway services are running between London and Luton.

Network Rail engineers are on site and attempting to fix the problem but train companies are warning disruption is likely to last until around noon.
