As the rain continued to fall in Luton and Dunstable over the weekend, several residents had rather damp journeys on flooded roads.

Beds Police were called out to two incidents of vehicles being stuck in flood water in Caddington on Saturday morning and one resident filmed his wet drive home.

James Hart from Wigmore filmed his journey through Caddington along Mancroft Road which was completely waterlogged.

He said: “After encountering a closed road in Caddington I took a detour that ended quite damply. I turned onto Mancroft Road from Piper’s Lane and for what it’s worth, I should have turned left!”

Police were called out at 10.43am on Saturday to a car stuck in flood water in Aley Green in Mancroft Road.

The water was at least one ft deep and police had to close the road.

Nobody was injured but the driver was forced to abandon his car and arrange for it to be recovered.
