WATCH: Home Office ‘investigating incident’ after Border Force van filmed blocking Luton Airport exit

The Home Office has said that it is looking into an incident at Luton Airport yesterday (Wednesday, April 23) after a video showed a Border Force van stopping vehicles from leaving the car park.

A driver from Stratfords Executive Cars Ltd filmed the van blocking the exits to one of the airport’s car parks.

Company director, Steve Wood said: “My business partner was picking a customer up from Luton Airport. On trying to leave the car park a Border Force van driver blocked the exit with his van; he wouldn’t let any vehicles out until he had spoken with an official. We think it was about his parking charge.”

Mr Wood alleged that around 40 vehicles were stopped from leaving, forcing his business partner to move the cones blocking another lane to let the vehicles out.

He added: “Our customers were in our vehicle needing to get to an important meeting, very frustrating for everyone in vehicles trying to work.”

While London Luton Airport could not comment, a Home Office spokesperson said: "We are aware of an incident at Luton airport and are investigating.”
