Julian Lloyd Webber – one of the world’s finest and most famous classical musicians – will be doing a special series of concerts next year with his wife and fellow cellist Jiaxin Lloyd Webber, accompanied by pianist Pam Chowhan.

We’ll have an opportunity to catch this phenomenal show on not one but two occasions – on February 22 at The Stables in Wavendon and again on March 5 at Dunstable’s Grove Theatre.

And there’s even more good news: Julian is inviting aspiring cellists to bring along their own instruments to perform on stage with the maestro himself – in effect, a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have a mini masterclass with one of the most successful British musicians of the past five decades.

In addition he will take his audience on an historical and musical journey by presenting a unique insight into his extraordinary life.

A member of one of the most influential musical dynasties of modern times, he will also recount stories and anecdotes of touring, recording sessions, concerts and TV shows to link with rare video footage of him talking to and performing alongside showbiz luminaries such as Nigel Kennedy, Elton John, Katherine Jenkins, Tim Rice, Yehudi Menuhin, Joaquin Rodrigo, Cleo Laine, Stephane Grappelli and many others.

The concert features works including Faure’s Elegy, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Music of the Night and Rachmaninov’s Cello Sonata as well as that of composers William Lloyd Webber, Frank Bridge, Bach and Philip Glass.

Julian said: “I look forward to sharing some incredible stories with you. It will be a fun evening.”
