Trio are on the run for Keech

Three Keech Hospice Care nurses have signed up to run a half marathon, Nike’s ‘Run to the Beat’ event to raise vital funds for the hospice.

Francesca Gallager, 25, Julia Wallis, 34, and Nicola Scott, 28, will be taking part in the 13 mile marathon on September 8.

Nicola, who has worked at the hospice for seven years said: “We are all extremely proud to work at Keech and thought it would be great to challenge ourselves whilst giving something back to such a worthy local cause. Spending time at the hospice, it makes you realise just how precious life is so we are all excited to be taking part in such a unique fundraiser.”

Julia added: “None of us are runners and before we started training we had never done anything like this before. Our friends, family and colleagues think we are crazy, however they have been so supportive.”

Martina Haugh, events fundraiser at Keech Hospice Care said: “This event prides itself on giving you more than just a running event.”
