Top BBC personality Nicholas Owen will regale guests at a Luton Hoo ladies' luncheon with tales from behind the scenes during his long career in television.

As ITV’s royal correspondent from 1994 to 2000, he played a major role in reporting the death of Princess Diana.

He has written several books including Diana: The People’s Princess, Brighton Belle and his autobiography, Days Like This.

He rejoined the Corporation in 2007 after more than a decade hosting all ITN’s major bulletins such as Channel Four News and News at Ten.

He has also appeared in a wide range of other TV and radio programmes and was a contestant in the 2006 series of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.

In addition, he presents his own show on Classic FM on Saturday afternoons.
