A Valentine poetry date for your diary
Luton Poetry Society founder Mary Emeji is looking forward to welcoming the town's mayor, Cllr Dave Taylor, to their annual Valentine poetry event on Saturday, February 23.
Mary – hailed as Luton’s own poet laureate by former mayor Syd Knight – said: “A reading of love poems, some classical music and love games are guaranteed to set your heart aflame with romantic vibes.
“All poetry lovers are invited and encouraged to bring along their love poems to perform on the day.

Mary, who has penned a book of poems entitled The Bond of Love. described Luton’s mayor as “an icon in our community and a lover of words.”
The Society meets at the Central Library at 2pm on the last Saturday of each month.
