Volunteer to be an independent advisor and help improve policing services

COULD you be an independent advisor for Bedfordshire Police?

The force is looking for volunteers from across the county to become members of a local Independent Advisory Group (IAG).

IAGs provide independent advice to the force and aim to improving the quality of policing services. They also help the police understand local communities.

Each part of the county is now represented with an IAG in Luton, Bedford and Central Beds. Theresa Peltier, head of diversity and inclusion at Beds Police, said: “I would encourage anyone with an interest in policing in their local community to think about getting involved and ultimately helping to shape how police services are delivered in their area.”

To be an independent advisor you must be part of a community being served by Bedfordshire Police, have knowledge of the community you represent and are flexible to attend meetings on an ad-hoc basis.
