We’re Nadine’s constituents – get her out of there!

Parish councillors in Toddington have taken a dim view of MP Nadine Dorries’ decision to appear in reality show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

The Mid Beds MP, whose constituency includes the villages of Toddington, Harlington and Barton, has been suspended by the Conservative party, and will be called to an urgent meeting with chief whip Sir George Young on her return from the celebrity jungle.

At their meeting last night, Toddington Parish Council chairman Jim Gledhill said: “From time to time we write to Nadine about issues of concern, and if such an issue comes up while she’s in the outback we will have to find other ways of communicating with her.”

Councillor Tony Lines said: “I would like to know what arrangements she has made for communication to take place.

“She says she wants to talk to 16 million people through the programme, but does she want to listen to us?”
