Westminster attacker previously lived in Luton and had history of violent knife crimes

Masood, 52, who was born in Kent as Adrian Elms, ploughed into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before stabbing to death policeman Keith Palmer in the grounds of Parliament.

Masood most recently lived in the West Midlands, but had been in Dunraven Avenue, in Luton, for a several years before moving in 2012.

Police raids have focused on Birmingham and Luton since the attack.

According to The Telegraph, Masood was a career criminal with a history of violent knife crime.

In July 2000, he slashed a man across the face after an argument that had “racial overtones” an attack which saw him jailed.

With his life already in a downward spiral, Masood would carry out another attack three years later, when he stabbed a man in the nose before reportedly travelling to Saudi Arabia.

His crimes and ‘violent extremism’ are said to have brought him to the attention of MI5 but that was not enough to prevent him from carrying out the attack which has left four people dead.
