A woman was left with life threatening injuries after a serious crash on the M1 northbound outside Luton this morning.

Two cars and two HGVs were involved in the collision between junctions 11 and 12 at just after 1am.

A woman sustained serious head injuries and was taken by ambulance to Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

She is expected to be transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
