Yob shouts homophobic abuse at woman in Luton

Police are investigating after a yob shouted homophobic abuse at a parking attendant in Luton.

The woman was walking along Chapel Street at around 2.15pm on Monday, March 14 when a man in a grey van shouted the abuse at her.

He also revved the engine and tried to drive at her.

PC Allan Taylor said hate crimes have a dramatic effect upon victims.

He added: “We are committed to investigating incidents such as this thoroughly and bringing those responsible to justice. The area was quite busy at the time so I’m appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.”

The offender is described as white, aged in his 30s, slim, with short brown hair and wearing a grey jumper.

The van possibly had a registration number of YR09 0DM.
