Beatles fan needed for 'once in a lifetime' tour guide job - here's how to apply

Beatles fans may want to dust off their CVs - the National Trust is now recruiting for a new guide to work at the childhood home of Paul McCartney.
The opportunity, described as a "once in a lifetime" role, has opened thanks to a long-serving member of staff retiring.

The National Trust is now looking for someone to take over from long-standing guide Sylvia Hall and give visitors informative tours of the home. The trust also own Mendips, a 1930s semi-detached house in Woolton where John Lennon spent his early years.
The charity are looking for someone with "accurate historical knowledge" to bring the "early years of two of the Beatles' story to life".

Hide AdMcCartney lived at 20 Forthlin in the 1950s and 60s from the age of 13 to 22, and it's estimated around 100 Beatles songs were composed there.
Tours are run on a seasonal basis by the National Trust, and in here time, retiring guide Sylvia Hall has given tours to stars like Debbie Harry, James Taylor and Jackson Browne. Even McCartney himself visited during a 2018 "Carpool Karaoke" segment with James Corden.

Simon Osborne, general manager of the National Trust's Liverpool properties, told the BBC: "We're really looking for someone who has a passion for bringing the early years of two of the Beatles' story to life.
