This is what the weather will be like over Christmas
Christmas is shortly upon us, but are we set to see a white Christmas or will the weather be bleak and grey?
Here’s the forecast for over the Christmas period.
Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office, Dan Suri, said. “For Christmas week there are signs of a quieter spell of weather and slightly colder temperatures for many, though some parts of the UK can still expect some unsettled weather on Monday or Tuesday."

Hide AdMonday 23 December
Monday (23 Dec) will see cloud and outbreaks of rain spreading across much of England and Wales, with showers following into southern UK and continuing in parts of Scotland.
There will also be freezing fog patches for parts of Scotland.
Northern Ireland will see a dry start to the evening with some clear spells, but thicker cloud and patchy rain will develop across southern counties overnight.
However, winds will ease down. Minimum temperature of -1C.
Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve (Tue 24 Dec), will see “much of northern and central England and north Wales cloudy with early rain,” explains the Met Office.

Hide AdFurther south, it will be windy and showery, especially in south Wales and southern England.
There will also be some showers over western Scotland.
In Northern Ireland, it will be “a rather cloudy day, particularly in the south where areas of low cloud may bring damp, misty conditions,” the Met Office said.
It will be drier and brighter in the north and later across the south, with light winds and a maximum temperature of 8C.

Hide AdChristmas Day and Boxing Day
According to the Met Office, it will be “sunny but chilly on Christmas Day, turning more unsettled through Boxing Day with rain and strong winds pushing east.
“By Friday cloudy and mild, with rain mostly across the northwest.”
The Met Office explains that Northern Ireland will see “a dry, frosty start on Christmas Day then settled with some long spells of sunshine.
“Turning wet and windy into Boxing Day then drier, if rather cloudy on Friday.”
