Allen proud of Luton RFC despite narrow Ampthill loss
Underdogs Luton lost out 17-13 at Goldington Road, despite leading 13-7 with 10 minutes to go, thanks to a Steve Ellis penalty and tries from Tom Mahendran and Aiden Kenny.
Allen said: “As a coaching team we felt that this would be a real test and talked to the players about performing with pride and finishing the season proving what a good team we have become.

“Ampthill are a quality, exciting team that have talent all over the park.
“With our position late in the second half we thought we may have done it, but Ampthill showed their class, keeping the ball and scoring a vital try.
“We have no complaints but we are disappointed we could not hold on.”
