After catching a 21lb 5oz common from the Grand Union Canal, Eric Brandham visited the River Great Ouse with his friend Dave Brosnan and was rewarded with a 3lb chub which fell to lobworm, while Brosnan had two small pike on deadbaits.

Damian Edwards had an afternoon session on Beckerings Reservoir where he caught commons of 21lb, 13lb 8oz and 11lb 4oz.

Jason Mills caught three 20-pounders in a manic hour, with a mirror of 24lb and commons of 22lb 8oz and 20lb 3oz gracing his net.

Matt Lloyd and Andrew Tyers started out carping at North House Lake but switched to piking after seeing them in the clear water.

In three hours the duo had seven pike between 7lb and 8lb on roach deadbaits from the margins.

At the same venue Jem Gribble tempted a 23lb 2oz common, Steven McInnes an 18lb 2oz common and Scott Larman a 16lb 8oz common, while a 26lb-plus common was landed by an unnamed angler.

On the South Lagoon Eric Jones, fishing with his own Red Eric Baits, banked a 22lb 4oz common and 19lb 12oz mirror, while nearby Andy Berridge caught a 24lb 12oz common and Peter Dempsey had a 23lb 3oz common on a Monster Crab snowman rig.

The South Lagoon is fishing well for bream, roach and skimmers with only the odd pike and zander making an appearance which is probably due to the relatively mild weather.

Visitors to the Grand Union Canal should note that there is a dirt half challenge running race taking place on Saturday, November 19, between Town South (Tiddenfoot) and The Three Locks with 500 runners expected to be taking part and anglers are advised to avoid the area on that day. Water levels are still incredibly low but a few decent fish are being caught. A couple of low double-figure barbel have been caught this week at Sharnbrook, but best fish was caught on the River Lea weighing in at an impressive 14lb and banked by Martin Wright. The usual legered pellet underneath a far bank feature proved the winning formula.

There are still a lot of silver fish being caught at Kempston where 10lb is possible from nearly every swim, while some specimen-sized dace to 12oz are being caught on the maggot at Radwell.

Tingrith Manor lake is as reliable as ever with carp to 9lb, rudd, roach and perch being caught off every peg.
