Arrows reach semi-finals with Dallow victory

ON the wettest April day on record, the Luton, Dunstable and District Netball League held their Cup and Plate quarter-finals outside.

The Cup quarter-final match saw Division One Dallow lose out 54-22 to Premier Division Arrows.

Dallow were quickly off the mark scoring three goals before Arrows got started, as they led 9-7 at the end of the first period.

Arrows proceeded to take control, although Dallow’s GD and GK were swift to intercept the missed shots from the Arrows shooters, but the Premier Division team ran out comfortable winners.

The other Cup game saw Leighton Buzzard Comets beat 7-Up Red 41-11.

In the Plate quarter-final, 7-Up Orange lost out 36-14 to Crawley Green Tornadoes.

Tornadoes scored several goals before 7-Up got going.

However, their WD then went off injured and they had to play the remainder of the match with just six players.

7-Up’s GD and GK tightly marked Tornadoes’ GS and GA, but they were in fine form and hardly missed a shot.

The young 7-Up girls did extremely well to keep up with the more experienced Tornadoes, who in the end ran out comfortable winners.

Played in heavy rain and very cold conditions, Panthers couldn’t quite find their usual form against 7-Up Whites as they lost out 33-12.

7-Up’s players fought for every ball and were quick to chase any lost possession as they ran out victors.

Black Pearls, meanwhile, beat Red Stripes 37-16.
