ATHLETICS: Blair bounces back from Olympic disappointment
Luton athlete Jo Blair was victorious at the CAU Inter County Championships, which included the English Senior Championships held in Bedford at the weekend.
The 30-year-old, who recently missed out on qualifying for the Olympic Games in Rio, easily saw off the challenge of Kike Oniwinde to throw 52.69m, winning by over four metres.
Blair had also been in action recently in Leiria Portugal for an international throws meeting, as her distance of 51.44m was enough to comfortably take first place
The Lutonian’s only goal left this year is to get the one metre needed to claim the number one spot in the country which is currently held by Goldie Sayers, then knuckle down and start preparations for London 2017.

In his first heat, Matthew, whose PB is 21.11secs this season, managed 21.22secs to ensure qualification for the next stage.
