Daniel Woodgate headed the field of 350 runners from the start and extended his lead throughout the race to win majestically by almost 30 seconds.

Strong runs by Tom Mead (14th), Sean Still (17th), Andrew McMulkin (28th) and Rhys Lewis (36th) led the team to sixth.

A slightly weaker ladies team were runners up to Bedford and County AC despite a second place by Revee Walcott- Nolan and an inspired fifth from Christine Lathwell.

Amalia Edwards, U17, is running into form with a good sixth place with track specialist Sophie Billington also making the top 10.

The next stage takes place at Slough in January.
