ATHLETICS: Tahlia qualifies for Schools Championships

Queensbury Academy student Tahlia Nelson has blown away the competition to qualify for the National Athletics Schools Championships in Birmingham this week.

The 15-year-old won the 100m and 200m titles at both the District and County Athletics Championships held at Stockwood Park recently.

Nelson clocked 12.7secs in the 100m, before running a magnificent 25.7secs in the 200m, earning a new personal best in the process.

She then anchored the Queensbury Academy team to victory in the 4x100m.

The Year 11 pupil runs for Luton AC, where she trains with 400m World Junior champion Sabrina Bakare.
