ATHLETICS: Team picked for English Schools Championships

The Bedfordshire and Luton Schools’ team for this month’s English Schools’ Championships taking place at Gateshead International Stadium has been announced.

Manshead pupil Kayanna Reid will go in the Senior Girls triple jump, while running the Junior Boys 100m is Kyron Canny from Barnfield West.

Another Manshead pupil, Lamin Coker, goes in the Inter Boys 100m, along with Queensbury student Joseph Hubbock in the 400m.

Coker will also feature in the relay as will Barnfield South Academy’s Edson Gomes, who also competes in the 100m hurdles.

In the Senior Boys event, Luton Sixth Form duo Gerald Matthew and Sam Hazel have been selected for the 200m and 400m respectively.
