Beds Youth regain Junior title

Beds Youth retained their English Pool Associations Region Four Junior Inter County title and qualified for Yarmouth in a stunning game against Hertfordshire last week.

Beds needed a win to guarantee second and hope leaders Suffolk slipped up to take the title.

The youngsters did their part by thrashing Herts 32-12 and with news of Suffolk’s 24-20 defeat filtering through, were crowned champions.

As well as team results, a number of individuals were going for England Trials. James Molloy (Dunstable), won four out of four to ensure he definitely qualified, while Josh Riddaway, current captain and England Player and Tom Church, previous captain and England U21 player, both got into the England Youth team on their second attempt.
