Dunstable Town BC

Dunstable Town took eight teams on tour to Salisbury recently.

Four of the sides captained by Phil Roff played against Salisbury Victoria BC and lost by 20 shots overall, before Dunstable won 79-72 against Salisbury BC, with Chris Jell as skip.

Sue Woollams captained four teams against Argyll BC in an overall triumph, while Rose Wilson led her four sides to victory at Richmond Park BC.

Eight teams also played in Bournemouth as Dunstable went down 82-54 to Knyveton Gardens, where Roy Myers was captain, before Peter Pratt skipped his foursome to success against Bournemouth Electric BC.

Beds ladies bowler was Marjorie Whitehead, with Gean Carmen runner-up, while Michael Ley took the men’s award, as Peter Cox was second. The club would like to thank Rod and Sue Woollams for organising the event. The ladies also played a friendly against Ampthill BC Ladies winning 25-5 and 27-16, with Barbara Hopkins as captain.
