Devine, Adams and James ready for War Zone show

LUTON boxers Michael Devine, Mark Adams and Gavin James take to the ring as part of the Goodwin Promotions War Zone bill at York Hall on Saturday, October 8, writes Mike Simmonds.

The trio are all managed by James Paisley and Devine, who has five wins and one defeat from his six bouts, steps up to six rounds a for the first time, when he takes on veteran fighter Steven Gethin, who has 11 wins and 62 defeats from his 76 bouts, but hasn’t won since February 23, 2008.

Adams, 26, has his second professional bout when he takes on 19-year-old Aaron Fox, who is yet to record a win, losing nine of his 10 fights.

Lutonian James enters the ring for the first time since the 25-year-old left Shamrock Gym earlier this year.

James lost his pro debut on points to Gary Cooper in February and is up against 33-year-old Duncan Cottier, who has lost 65 of his 70 bouts with his last win coming way back in March 2006.
