The 24-year-old’s opponent was switched three times before the York Hall bout, where he claimed a 40-35 victory over Northern Irish fighter Alec Bazza, 25, in his second bout.

Devine said: “I just want to say thank you to my loyal Luton lot who come to support me all the time.

“I had about three different opponents the day before so was taking my time.

“I tried to get rounds in and didn’t get out of first gear.

“I tried new things and boxed OK and had him down with an nice shot in the last round.”

Devine is set to fight again on April 19 and, on his future, he added: “I hope to be involved in some big title fights.”
