Devine to make step up in class

LUTON lightweight Michael ‘Chunky’ Devine is facing a real step up in class when he fights Youssef Al Hamidi at York Hall, Bethnal Green, on Saturday, December 3.

Hamidi, 33 born in Syria and living in Dewsbury, may only have won nine and drawn two of his 49 fights, but he does boast the scalp of the current British champion Anthony Crolla.

Trainer James Paisley said: “Youseff Al Hamidi is another step up for Michael.

“He has beaten the current British champion Anthony Crolla so it will be another fight that he will have to listen and be very cautious in.”

Devine, 22, will be hoping for the seventh win of his pro career as he looks to edge closer to a title fight with victory in this four rounder.

Tickets are available from Devine on 07760 857216.
