Devine’s delight at Prizefighter call
Luton boxer Michael Devine has been named as one of the combatants in the Prizefighter Lightweights III line-up next month.

Devine will go up against Gary Buckland, Danny Connor, Steve Foster Jnr, Floyd Moore, Lee Martin and two fighters yet to be named at York Hall on December 6.
With £32,000 awaiting the winner, Devine admitted it was something he had been trying to get into, saying: “We’ve wanted to get into Prizefighter, so Eddie Hearn got in touch with my manager and we went from there.
“It’s great exposure for me and I’m on the big stage now. I’m getting my name out there and I was looked after for a bit, but now it’s time to let the reins go.
“I’ve done my apprenticeship, so I can start to push on and there’s no better way than Prizefighter.

“There’s lot of money at stake for the winner and I’m hungry for that. I’m not just hungry for the money though, I’m hungry for the opportunities that come after Prizefighter.”
Devine could well come up against his most recent opponent Connor as the pair shared a technical draw in September and the 25-year-old, who has won 11 and lost one of his 12 bouts, backed himself to make the step up.
