Earl to make shock return against Katsidis

Luton boxer Graham Earl will make a shock return to the ring with a scheduled bout against two-time world champion Australian Michael Katsidis in Toowoomba on July 4.

The pair first met in 2007 when Katsidis travelled to London to take on Earl for the vacant WBO lightweight world interim championship.

The fight may have only lasted five rounds, but the excitement, controversy and explosiveness left it etched in the memory of fight fans around the world.

Katsidis eventually triumphed, but Earl has been publically out for a rematch ever since and appears to have got his opportunity.

Brendon Smith, trainer and manager of Katsidis believes the fight will be a career defining one for both men.
