George learns plenty from his latest win

Luton boxer Bobby George will have learned a lot from his latest fight as he was made to work hard for his 60-56 points victory over Latvian Jevgenijs Kirillovs at York Hall, Bethnal Green, on Sunday afternoon, writes Mark Wood.

The 29-year-old former Olympic bronze medallist claimed his seventh-straight pro win, but it wasn’t as easy as he initially thought with the tricky Kirillovs pushing him hard throughout.

New trainer James Cook, who is a former British and EBU super middleweight champion, has been impressed with what he has seen and is aiming to draw out George’s talent.
