THE prestigious WBC Life Contribution to Boxing award has been bestowed on Luton trainer Jim Turner.
The honour was originally scheduled to be awarded at the WBC Convention in Cardiff in front of over 70 world champions and beamed to boxing fans around the world but unfortunately Turner was unable to attend due to ill health.
Instead WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko accepted it on his behalf from Mauricio Sulaiman.
Klitschko said: “It is an honour to accept this award on behalf of Jim Turner for his very important work for boxing.”
