Major award for Lewsey ABC as they celebrate annual awards evening

Lewsey ABC have received the ABA and Sport England Clubmark Award for meeting high quality standards in activity care and welfare club/community and club management.

A plaque and certificate was presented to the club’s senior coach and secretary Brian Noblett by ABA England development officer Naomi Clayphan at the Lewsey Community Centre on the Annual Awards evening.

On the night, Boxing Merit awards went to Jack Graham, Tommy Smith and Dejan Martin. Junior Boxer Of The Year went to Reece Porter and the Senior Boxer award to Craig Smith. The Clubman award went to Josh Uddin, who also claimed the Lewsey Centre Clubman award.

An additional award was given to Ceri Winter for the work she did at the club’s new boxing gym at Lewsey Sports Park.

Meanwhile, Porter, 17, won all three rounds of his Senior 71kg fight against Lee McGrath as he claimed a unanimous points victory at the Luton Academy show on Saturday night.
