Time for a change as Devine swaps trainers

The 26-year-old made the decision after a points defeat to Adam Dingsdale at York Hall a fortnight ago.

Speaking to the News/Gazette, Devine said: “I’ve left James Paisley on good terms as we had a mutual agreement and think it’s time to move on and have a fresh start.

“Me and James have become best mates and did a lot of work by ourselves, so it was hard for sparring opportunities.

“I got too comfortable there and think it’s just time to get out of my comfort zone and start pushing on, so I’m going to be training with Rod Julian at Chingford and am heading there soon for my first session.”

Defeat to Dingsdale was only the third of Devine’s career, with one coming in Prizefighter last year and the other back during 2011.

The Lutonian, who is back out again in July, admitted he had been hindered by an an unexpected change to his pre-fight routine.
