Shamrock’s latest fighter from Banbury was allowed to throw his combos with almost complete impunity as the lively 26-year-old seemed to have far too much energy for his veteran opponent.

Vaughan continued to pick his opponent off in the third round with one right penetrating right finding its target. Although Vaughan was in complete control, he never looked like finishing the fight early.

The Banbury Bull looked to end the fight in the fourth and final round, catching Cottier with a couple of decent shots, but he had to wait for the final bell for the referee to lift his arm.

And Vaughan was given the decision 39-37 as Cottier was condemned to the 77th defeat of his career
