County claim a fine third place
A string of fantastic results helped the Bedfordshire and Luton Schools team finish third in the Minor Counties division with 85.5 points at the English Schools Athletics Championships at Gateshead International Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
Manager Dennis Johnson said: “It was a great all round performance with nine athletes achieving English School’s entry standards, 10 achieving English School’s National Standards and 10 setting lifetime best performances.
“All this was from just 25 athletes.
“Not surprisingly the team fared well finishing third of the 15 teams in the Minor Counties division.”
