The eight-a-side tournament attracted participants from all over the UK, but it was the Luton Majestics team, sponsored by Dominos Pizza and Red Light Laser Treatment, who fought their way to victory.

In the semi-final, Asif Younis managed three runs off the last ball as Majestics tied against AJ Sports.

The game then went into a super over to decide who would face Slough team MB Malik’s in the final.

All-rounder Adil Mustafa’s three huge sixes put Majetics in the ascendancy and his bowling proved too good for AJ Sports’ semi-professional Asif Hussain.

In the final, Mudassar Hussain won the toss and decided Majestics would bat first.

Opening batsmen Masroor Raja and Hamid Riaz maintained their consistency and, alongside brilliant contributions by Zahoor Rehman and Adnan, Majestics totalled a massive 77 in their six overs a side match.

MB Malik’s struggled in reply with Yasir Arfat bowling well.

Waqar Raja’s pace sent wickets tumbling as he led his team to victory, picking up the bowler of the series award in the process.
