Sam Cherry hit a career-best 177 not out for the home side from just 116 balls, putting on 157 with Ben Abbott who plundered 101 from only 60 balls.

Terry Carr and Ned Whitney added 29 and Kashif Ali 25, while Sam Marshall’s 12-ball 31 pushed Dunstable to their gigantic final score.

Andy Watts, Rob Simpkins and Ian Gilbert all took two wickets each in reply as they bowled the nine men out for 181 to claim a 260-run victory.

Ben Adamson starred once again, but it wasn’t enough to prevent another loss for the Sunday IIs as they were beaten by Ampthill.

Adamson hit 53 from just 55 balls, whilst Dean Wood smashed 43, with Mehul Godhania (22), James Bromhall (22) and Victor Hardwicke (25) helping their side to 198-9 from 45 overs.

However, Ampthill raced to 199-3 from just 25.5 overs despite Adamson taking two wickets.

Dunstable first’ batting woes reared their head for the first time in a month as they could only reach 159-9 against table-topping Letchworth Garden City, losing their Saracens Herts League Championship clash by four wickets on Saturday.

Jonny Rice hit 22, before Sam Cherry and Guy Hill dug Dunstable out of a hole, Cherry scoring 49 whilst Hill hit 42, as Town struggled to 159.

In the absence of opening bowler Luke Cherry, Mike Alston and Sam Cherry took two wickets each, but Letchworth reached 163-4.

The IIs could only draw at St Albans despite Ian Gilbert’s best ever figures of 6-47.

Dunstable posted 213-8 from 53 overs as Sam Marshall top scored with 45 and Mark Smith added 43, before St Albans reached 197-9.

The 10-man threes dropped to second in Division Eight B after a draw at Northampton Exiles.

The hosts made 218-6 from 53 overs despite Harry Wright’s two wickets and although Ian Horton and Adam Stearn hit 31 and 46, Dunstable’s middle order collapsed, as Ben Adamson’s unbeaten 61 led a recovery to 187-6.

A young fourth team succumbed to a 20-run loss against Henlow.

Dunstable bowled Henlow out for 190 as Kieran Barry took three wickets, before Andy Sanders top scored with 66 not out whilst Freddie Lippiatt added 30 and Lee Pratt hit 25 as they made 170-5.
