Cherry's are in sublime form as Dunstable beat Langleybury

Luke Cherry’s early inroads with the ball led to him finishing with figures of 5-54 from 17 overs, whilst brother Sam claimed 3-24.

Dunstable were set a target of 186 for victory and it was Sam Cherry who guided the hosts home with an unbeaten 70 from just 67 balls.

Jonny Rice had earlier got Dunstable off to the start they wanted with a 68-ball 72 as they reached 189-4 from just 34.2 overs.

The IIs made it two wins on Saturday for Dunstable with a comfortable 30-run victory over Bayford and Hertford.

Stuart Harvey’s 88 proved decisive as Dunstable reached 216 all out with Nick Smith adding 26.

They were able to comfortably defend their target taking seven wickets in the process, reducing their hosts to 186-7 from 50 overs.

There were contrasting fortunes for the IIIs who succumbed to league leaders Datchworth IIs by 97 runs.

Harry Wright took all of Dunstable’s five wickets but couldn’t prevent his side being set 304 for victory.

Steve Rumball’s 51-ball 65 looked to have them on their way, but the hosts lost wickets at regular intervals and were all out for just 206 in reply, Phil Lewis adding 36, Robbie Coe 27.

The IVs had to concede due to lack of players.

Dunstable’s Sunday first team were beaten by Luton Town and Indians after they could only muster 174 at Wardown Park.

Joe Thorne (43) and Harry McBrearty (41) gave Dunstable a target to defend after 37 from Sam Marshall at the top of the order, but could only take four wickets in reply.

Three of those went to Luke Cherry, but Luton were able to reach 178-4.

The IIs were comprehensively beaten by Bedford after they were set 300 to win.

Bedford reached 299-5 from their 45 overs and Dunstable could only muster 132 in reply, 38 of those going to Ian Horton.

The IIIs triumphed for the first time since the opening weekend to become the only winning side on Sunday.

Robbie Coe’s 48 set them on their way to 210 all out whilst Paul Gilbert added 41 and Stuart Harvey 38.

Bedford IIs were cruising at 130-2, but 5-22 from Coe meant the hosts collapsed to 163 all out to give Dunstable a 47-run win.
