Hawks are hammered as Kingsway claim first win

KINGSWAY CC recorded their first win of the season by hammering Luton Hawks by 83 runs in the Premier Division.

Kingsway smashed 128-3 thanks to a superb unbeaten knock by Omraiz Khan, 51, who had great support from Atif Ali (20), while Naeem Aktar (2-19) bowled well to limit the damage.

In reply, Hawks were simply blown away as some outstanding bowling by Rishi Chandarana (3-8) and Danial Ilyas (4-22) ripped through Hawks’ batting line-up as they were all out for only 45.

Luton Haiderys notched 129-7 to maintain their 100 per cent record as they overcame Luton Majestics, 103-6, by 26 runs.

Kamber Shah contributed an unbeaten 48 as Haiderys remain top of the table thanks to a superior run-rate.

Luton Pakistanis followed up last week’s big win with a narrow 15-run victory against Lions CC.

Pakistanis hammered 142-2 off their allotted overs thanks once again to the run machine Mohammed Haroon who followed up his unbeaten half century last week with another classy 57 not out.

Lions’ chase began well but Tasir (4-14) bowled exceptionally to restrict them to 127-6 and move his team level on points with Haiderys.

The top two clash between Luton Saracens and LU Stars in Division One proved to be a very exciting contest as the game went into the last over.

Saracens batted first and made 113-8 off their allotted overs.

LU Stars then made hard work of the target as they just won from the last ball thanks to Mohammed Assad’s unbeaten 50.

Luton CC hammered 138-7 against Kashmir Cavaliers who could only manage 99-9.

Sailesh (38) batted well for Luton CC and then went on to take 1-4. In reply only Adnan Tahir (28) stood out for Cavaliers.

Shaheen CC made 122-8 to beat AKXI, 105-5, by 17 runs.

Shaheen had Adeel in good touch as his contributions paved the way for his side’s first win of the season which leaves AKXI rooted to the bottom of the table.

Luton Eagles remain top of Division Two as they overcame second-placed Accident Specialists.

Eagles invited Specialists to bat first but they could only manage 82-7 with Shabaz Hussain top-scoring with 33 and Assad Sakhi making 14.

Eagles then raced along to their target thanks to Khayyam Iqbal (21) and Zahoor Rehman (18) as they won by six wickets.

The Saracens moved out of the relegation zone with a 15-run win over Challney CC who remain at the bottom.

Saracens batted first and posted 107-5 thanks to Ajab Khan’s 28 and Rahoof Khan’s 28 with only Mohammed Qamar (4-13) bowling well for Challney CC.

Qhazanfar Hussain then bowled an incredible spell as his 5-11 restricted Challney to just 92-8.

Meanwhile, Haiderys Tigers 159-7 thrashed Alpha CC 87 by 72 runs. Majid made 42 for Tigers and then took 4-12, Talat Malik hit a quickfire 39.
