Modest Dunstable Town CC star Keogh plays down his monster double ton

Modest Dunstablian Rob Keogh played down his achievement as his first-ever first-class century turned into a monster double ton for Northamptonshire last week.

He may have raised his first-class career best from a middling 44 to a spectacular 221 in the draw against Hampshire at the Aegas Bowl, but the Dunstable Town CC cricketer has played down his success.

The 21-year-old’s double century served notice of a real talent but the man himself said that he was just happy to make a decent contribution.

He said: “I’ve made a couple of 30s and 40s without going on so it was nice to turn that into 200.”
