Shah hits 50 as Haiderys easily clip Eagles’ wings

Zawar Shah hit an unbeaten half century as Luton Haiderys trounced Luton Eagles by 10 wickets in the Luton Midweek Cricket League Premier Division on Tuesday night.

Set 115 for victory after restricting Eagles to just 114-6, Shah set out about the challenge with real confidence.

He eventually finished on 65 not out as Haiderys reached 115-0 inside 10 overs.

Lions CC proved too strong for The Saracens, earning a 28-run victory.

Batting first, Nasir Shah made an unbeaten 65 as Lions totalled 134-5 from 16 overs.

In reply, The Saracens fell to 106 all out in 14.3 overs.

Leaders Shaheen won again, as they saw off 
Luton CC by five wickets.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, Luton stuttered to 108-8 from 16 overs as Mohammad Watif top-scored with 24, including three fours.

He was supported by Saeed (17), Imran Younas (17) and Khazier Manzoor (12no), while Kamran Choudhery finished with 4-22 and Ahtzaz Ahmed took 2-33.

Opening batsman Raja Babar then got Shaheed off to a flier as he hammered 71 from just 35 balls with five fours and six sixes.

Naeem Shahzad made 14, while Ammad Saeed was 10 not out as Shaheen reached 111-5 in 13.3 overs as Mohammed Ismael claimed 2-23 and Saeed Ullah took 2-24.

In Division One, AKCC were hefty 90-run winners over Accident Specialists.

Jatinder Singh made a fine 76, while Sachin Wagh hit 62 as AKCC racked up 170-4, while Accident Specialists were then held to 80-7.

AKXI were winners too as they beat Luton Hawks by 20 runs.

Batting first, AKXI made 122-5, while Najeeb Ahmed then took 4-33 as Hawks were dismissed for 102.

Kashmir Cavaliers were beaten by Luton United Stars, as they fell to a six wicket loss.

Asfan Javed took two stumpings as Cavaliers made 137-5 in 16 overs and the wicketkeeper then scored 39 in his side’s winning reply of 138-4.

Division Two saw Hatters ease past Luton Cricketers by eight wickers.

After Cricketers made 102-8, D Singh scored an unbeaten 59 in his side’s 103-2.

Challney lost by seven wickets to Kingsway after scoring 117-7 as the visitors replied with 118-3 thanks to Gurdeep Jandoo’s 36.

Conered Tigers (121-6) went down by five wickets to Luton Majestic (122-5), with Tehmoor Abbas scoring 62.
