Steppingley too hot for Lutonian

Lutonian suffered an eight-wicket beating at the hands of Steppingley in the Bedfordshire Invitation League Division One.

Lutonian were skittled for just 117 in 31.1 overs, with Imran Bashir the top scorer with 21.

Steppingley cruised to 118 for two to win inside 17 overs.

For Lutonian, Naeem Khan and Tahir Ishaq took a wicket apiece.

It was a very different story for Lutonians IIs in division three as they thrashed Ampthill IVs by 175 runs.

Lutonian rattled up 291 for eight in 45 overs thanks to Yaseer Masood with 85, Yasir Yakoob with 69 and Umar Farooq with 42.

In reply, Ampthill were bowled out for 116 in 26.5 overs as Ehtasham Serwar claimed four for 15, Yakoob two for 10 and Raja Ahmed two for 50.

In the Bedfordshire Youth Competitions Development under 12s South Division, Lutonian beat Langford by 48 runs.

Langford won the toss and scored 145 for 12 in their 20 overs, with Aqeel Hussain snaring five for 14, Bilal Hussain three for 19 and Zulkifl Malik two for nine.

Lutonian then hit 193 for seven. Aqeel Hussain scored 18 not out, Rahim Rayasat 14 not out and Zulkifl Malik 10 not out.
