Wasim Akram visits Luton

The Cricket Plus Academy held the event at the Rotheram Avenue campus and Akram and Faisal Khan, pictured above, were welcomed by principal Catherine Bar, vice principal John Lincoln and area youth worker Taj Hussain.

Akram worked on the basics of fast bowling with the talented youngsters and passed on some invaluable tips to the batsmen too. He also demonstrated his traditional in-swinging yorker.

He said: “I was so pleased to see the young talent in both sessions and appreciate the time the parents and coaches spend on their children and students to achieve their cricketing goals.

“I hope they will follow the basics I taught them to improve their bowling skills further.

“They all have lots to achieve and I wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them again in the future.”
