Fensome does the double at Hatters Ladies awards night

Natasha Fensome stole the show at the Luton Town Ladies annual presentation evening on Friday, picking up the Players' Player award and the Golden Boot.

Fensome, who was in her debut season for the Hatters, rapidly became a significant member of the team and her combination of skill and pace petrified defenders.

She managed 23 goals throughout the campaign and on receiving her double Fensome said: “It was a very good feeling winning two awards, it made me feel proud of what was achieved this season especially as I am new to the team.

“Players’ player is a very important award to win as it shows your team-mates appreciate the work you have put in throughout the season.

“So it made me feel really happy, proud and privileged to win the award.

“I am proud of what I have contributed to Luton this season, but I feel I have much more to give to help Luton climb the league table.”

Fensome also admitted that although she is looking forward to the new season, there is always room for improvement.

She continued: “The team are so easy to get along with which makes football much more enjoyable.

“The players and coaches are always motivating and supporting each other which helps any player.

“I am excited for next season as I feel with a good pre-season we as a team can definitely challenge for the league, I also believe we can retain the County Cup.

“I am a believer that there is always room for improvement so I am hoping to score more goals next season and create more chances.”

Left back Jess Mckay got Fensome’s vote for Players’ Player and also picked up the award for Manager’s Player.

Mckay, while demonstrating a high work-rate, has made a vast contribution to the team with a numbers of assists and goals including two in the County Cup win.

Boss Nikki Baker applauded Mckay, saying: “She has been absolutely tremendous and made a big impact both at left back and in midfield.

“She has a brilliant attitude, always at training, always takes on instructions and has also had her fair share of goals and assists.”

Town awarded Erica Byron Young Player of the Year after an impressive season displaying constant improvement and maturity and she has now cemented her place in the starting line-up.

Baker added: “She has played two seasons now in the first team and improved dramatically.

“Her attitude has been spot on, she has weighed in with the goals and now starts to take responsibility for herself on the pitch.

“She has made a starting 11 position her own and had a great season.”
