Fliers claw past Cougars

G-Casino Luton Fliers were too strong for Cambridge Cougars, with a 62-47 Herts Premier victory at the Inspire Sports Village.

The first quarter saw Luton establish a two-point lead, but the hosts then switched from a man-to-man defence to an aggressive zonal system as they moved 14 points ahead at half time.

In the second period, Cougars managed to keep pace with their opponents, but Fliers still eased to a 62-47 triumph as Neil Baker (12), Paddy Heggarty (11) and Rafe Abrook (10) were the main scorers for Luton.

This week Fliers are at home to Cambridge Cats.
