61 FC (Luton) shock Rangers to make cup final

The 61 FC (Luton) reached the final of the SSML Division Two Cup with an excellent 2-0 win at promotion-chasing Thame Rangers on Saturday.

Goals from Matthew Conway and Thomas Vandenbergh saw them go through as they will now face either Mursley United or Clean Slate.

Crawley Green turned in a tremendous battling performance to secure a hard earned point in a 0-0 draw against Welwyn Garden City on Wednesday night.

They didn’t have a game last weekend and now visit Leighton Town on Saturday

Crawley Green Res ran out 4-0 winners against Elstow Abbey. Cameron Veazey, Henry Mungwira, Tom Barnett and George Hewitt were the scorers.

Totternhoe Res racked up an excellent 6-1 win over Old Bradwell United Res.

Thomas Howson put the hosts ahead on four minutes, with Joe Smith’s quickfire double (31 & 35), plus Jonny Clarke’s strike (39) followed in the first half.

After the interval, Smith completed his hat-trick on 84 minutes and Howson added the sixth in stoppage time.

The 61 FC Luton Res had a walkover win at Westoning as the hosts have withdrawn from the league

This weekend, Crawley Green Res host Shefford Town & Campton Res in the Centenary Cup, while Totternhoe Res entertain Meltis Albion.

Slip End continued their Leighton and District League Division Two unbeaten run with a comfortable 5-1 win over Chalton.

First half goals from James Caulfield, Rory Nagle and Seb Prothero gave United a 3-0 half time, with John Clarke’s double increasing End’s advantage in the second period.
