A Green day as Leverstock are on the spot to beat Blues

FOOTBALL: Dunstable Town lost 1-0 at Leverstock Green in Molten Spartan SML Premier on Tuesday night.

A sixth-minute penalty by Green skipper Lee Bircham, after Ben Butler had been unfairly hauled back by Blues’ keeper Paul Taylor, proved to be decisive.

With Dunstable resting key players before tonight’s (Thursday) Challenge Trophy semi-final at Colney Heath, both teams laboured to create clear-cut opportunities.

Luke Lincoln had his penalty appeals turned down, while home keeper Carl Tasker made excellent saves from Lincoln and substitute Lee Burgoyne.

On Saturday, the Blues beat Kingsbury London Tigers 2-1 with goals from Jonathan Cooper and Nathan Frater.

Dunstable travel to Hadley in the league on Saturday.
