AFC Dunstable progressed to the FA Vase third round proper for the first time in their history after holding on to defeat Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division side Kirkley and Pakefield at the weekend.

The result saw AFC pick up £1,200 in prize money and will now travel to Thurlow Nunn First Division team Saffron Walden Town on December 6.

AFC led through Jermaine Hall’s goal on 16 minutes, before Fabio Bufano headed home Newman Carney’s free kick.

In the second half, Chris Francis nodded a third, while although Kyle Baker and Ian Hunter pulled goals back, AFC held on.
