AFC held by Green

SML Premier Division Holmer Green 2 AFC Dunstable 2

AFC Dunstable battered Holmer Green at Airedale Park on Saturday but somehow failed to deliver the killer blow as they ended their first season in the Molten Spartan SML Premier Division with a 2-2 draw.

Against the run of play, the home side took the lead on 31 minutes when Gareth Williams who slid the ball home at the far post.

After the break, AFC pulled level on the hour when BJ Christie’s cross was headed home by Tony Burnett.

The visitors took the lead from the spot with five minutes to go as James Baldry was questionably brought down, with Wayne Mills netting the penalty.

But with 10 seconds left Sean O’Donnell rose the highest from a corner to head home Holmer’s equaliser.
